Management Committee (Consortium)

Purpose: The management committee oversees the management of the Program. It develops and approves policies as recommended by the standing committees and administrative staff. When necessary, it will seek the approval of the Universities on policies and procedures.

Placement Committee (Consortium)

Purpose: The placement committee is a standing committee of the MEP Consortium, and is responsible for the ongoing review and coordination of student midwifery placements across the two sites.

Curriculum Committee (Consortium)

Purpose: The Curriculum committee is a standing committee of the MEP and is responsible for ongoing review and updating of the overall curriculum.  This includes overseeing the development of consortium lead courses, overall curriculum structure, local revisions to existing courses, and alignment of the curriculum with midwifery core competencies.

Curriculum Committee (Local)

Purpose: The curriculum committee reviews and approves course descriptions and outlines. It recommends changes to course content, course stream, unit/credit weighting and grading policies.

Academic Review Committee (Consortium)

Purpose: The academic review committee reviews and makes decisions concerning students progress, academic standing, withdrawals, leaves of absence and readmission to the program. To protect students’ rights to privacy and confidentiality, this committee will consist of Program Faculty and Program Administrators.

McMaster Midwifery Admissions Committee (Local)

Purpose: The admissions committee is responsible for reviewing the admissions policies and procedures.

McMaster Anti-Racist Action Committee (Consortium)

Purpose:  The MAAC’s mandate is to increase the number of IBPOC graduates in the midwifery profession through the decolonizing of midwifery education in the OMEP consortium and provision of advocacy for IBPOC students in order to support a new legacy of equity and anti-racism in healthcare

MEP EDI Advisory Committee (Local)

Purpose: The EDI advisory committee provides strategic advice to the McMaster Midwifery Education Program (MEP) on matters relating to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Specifically, the advisory committee helps identify potential areas of growth, relevance of projects to stakeholder needs, and provides strategic direction on program evaluation and review.
