The New Ontario Midwives’ Mentorship Program
Attention New Ontario Midwives!
If you are starting your first year of practice, you may be interested in participating in the New Ontario Midwives’ Mentorship Program. This program includes two elements:
- Online modules that include presentations, resources, reflective questions and activities to facilitate your orientation and promote integration. There is also a discussion board where you can post questions and share/access additional resources
- Monthly peer review and support sessions just for new midwives. The aim of these sessions is to provide a safe space to share cases and seek support and recommendations from your peers who can relate to the challenges of adjusting in the first year of practice in Ontario. These sessions are facilitated by experienced preceptors and midwifery faculty who are keen to provide support.
As part of the program, you will be asked to complete a baseline assessment and post course survey. If you choose to participate in the evaluation of this course you will be asked to share your survey results and may be asked to complete two 45-60-minute interviews.
Participants who complete the baseline and post course surveys will be added to a draw for one of 3 gift card prizes of $50, $100 and $150. Additionally, participants will receive a $20 gift card for each interview provided.
